Paper Invitation to Special Issue “Development of New Methods of Synthesis of Heterocycles” [Molecules IF 3.098]
Molecules is fully open access. Open access (unlimited and free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies. Currently, the median time from submission to first decision in Molecules is 13 days. The median time from submission to final publication is 30 days, which is attributed to the rapid production processing of the papers upon acceptance of the manuscript.

Open access is supported by the authors and their institutes. Article Processing Charges of CHF 1800 (APC) apply to accepted papers. From the editorial office we managed to have a 10% discount over the CHF 1800 for articles accepted for publication. You may also be entitled to a discount if you have previously received a discount code or if your institute is participating in the MDPI Institutional .
Possibly we will have a article free of charges, for one author that belong to COST-CHAOS.
Open Access Program (IOAP), for more information see: http://www.mdpi.com/about/ioap.

For more information about the Special Issue, please see:
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/molecules/special_issues/new_synthesis_heterocycles

For information on manuscript preparation and related matters, please
see the instructions for authors:
http://www.mdpi.com/journal/molecules/instructions

Although the deadline for submission of manuscripts to the Special Issue
is 31 October 2019, I would appreciate hearing from you in the next few
weeks whether you would be willing to submit a contribution.

With best wishes,
Paula Branco

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Research Associate to join the University of Bath. You will be an instrumental team member working as part of an EPSRC Early Career Fellowship awarded to Dr. Ruth Webster.

You will be investigating iron catalysts for the manipulation of phosphines. Phosphines are indispensable structures for key chemical manufacturing industries; this project aims to develop atom efficient catalytic P-C bond forming reactions using the simplest sources of phosphorus. Mechanistic investigations are key to success, allowing us to unravel the finer details of the catalytic cycles involved and thus inform future reaction development.

A proven track record in air-sensitive organometallic/coordination/phosphorus chemistry is highly desirable. Good organisational, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential as is the desire to collaborate with the group’s academic partners.

For information on the research group or an informal discussion about the position please contact Ruth Webster (r.l.webster@bath.ac.uk), however, please ensure that all applications, including a CV and covering letter, are submitted via the University website.

https://researchportal.bath.ac.uk/en/persons/ruth-webster/

This is a fixed-term position available until May 2022, and the successful candidate must be in post by 3 December 2019.

The University of Bath is committed to equality of opportunity. We invite applications from candidates irrespective of their gender, age, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious beliefs. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups, including women.

Dear CHAOS Members,

So far the number of registrations for Cyprus meeting is low as most of the members have not yet signed up for the meeting. Actually, we should have at least 80 participants and so far there are <30 registrations. Actually, if we do not receive more STSM applications or ITC grant applications we could support even 100 participants! Here we send you a reminder about the soft deadline. In order to reach a reasonable number of participants we request you to do the following:

MC Members: If we don’t reach the required quorum (2/3 of participating countries) of MC members for voting, then we cannot make any decision. If as a MC Member your schedule does not permit joining the meeting, please ask your MC substitute to register for the meeting. Please keep in mind the students cannot substitute an MC member only officially MC member substitutes can. Read more

Development of an efficient catalytic process for cycloalkanes oxidation

A post-doctoral position is vacant at ENS Chimie de Rennes in a collaborative program between the
« Organometallics : Materials and Catalysis » Team (UMR 6226) and the Solvay group located in
Lyon (Solvay Performance Polyamides)

The transformation of saturated hydrocarbons in oxidation products of interest through Csp3-
H functionalization processes constitutes an industrial challenge again. The research work developed
in collaboration with Solvay group relies on the design of efficient catalysts for the selective oxidation
of cheap hydrocarbons into alcohols and/or ketones by industrially interesting reagents and ideally
under mild conditions (low pressure and/or temperature).
