Dear CHAOS Members,

So far the number of registrations for Cyprus meeting is low as most of the members have not yet signed up for the meeting. Actually, we should have at least 80 participants and so far there are <30 registrations. Actually, if we do not receive more STSM applications or ITC grant applications we could support even 100 participants! Here we send you a reminder about the soft deadline. In order to reach a reasonable number of participants we request you to do the following:

MC Members: If we don’t reach the required quorum (2/3 of participating countries) of MC members for voting, then we cannot make any decision. If as a MC Member your schedule does not permit joining the meeting, please ask your MC substitute to register for the meeting. Please keep in mind the students cannot substitute an MC member only officially MC member substitutes can. Read more

Dear CHAOS Members,

Tarragona meeting scientific program is online and can be viewed here,

http://www.events.cost-chaos.org/program/#not-set:all

We could still fit couple of oral presentations to the list and if you would like to give oral presentation please contact us as soon as possible.

If you have opted for oral presentation and dont find yourself in the list please let us know so that we could fix it.

Looking forward to see you in Tarragona.

Michael & Farooq

The registration for our next meeting in Alcala, Spain from March 22-23 2018 is now open. Just by accepting this e-cost invitation, you are registered. Regarding talks at our workshop, please send a short Abstract to admin@cost-chaos.org in case you want to present research results. Since we have no infinite budget, I encourage you to register as soon as possible, since we handle reimbursement at this workshop on a first come first serve basis.

Deadline for registration is the 22.12.2017.

As indicated in my last mail, students are also welcome to participate at this meeting and students can register at our homepage using the following link:

Confirmation mails of acceptance will be sent out to the students by the end of January. Students will receive a fixed grant of 500€ for covering their expenses, which suffices for covering all expenses according to the experience of our colleague Martin Albrecht from the CARISMA action. Students are also encouraged to submit abstracts for poster presentation and in case there are free spaces for oral communications, they will be given to students as well.

Dear CHOAS members!

I contact you with two important issues:

1.)    For the meeting in Sofia Vanya Kurteva has reserved a contingent of rooms in the hotel which is also the venue of our meeting. You can reserve your room using the attached form, in which also the contact details for the hotel and a promotion code is mentioned, which you have to use in order to get the reduced rate Vanya negotiated for us. The reservation is valid until January 17th, 2017 so please act fast in order to reserve your room.

2.)    You remember that Pedro Perez, Editor in Chief of Advances in Organometallic Chemistry, offered us to organize a special issue in this high impact journal (IF 12.5 for 2016, ranking #1 in the field of organic chemistry). In order to fill an issue, 6-8 contributions are required. However, so far only two proposals where submitted. Pedro was so kind to extend the deadline for proposal submission until January 16th. I hope that we will find a few more contributors from within the consortium since otherwise it will not be possible for Pedro to support us with a special issue. For our Action it would be a great opportunity when reporting to COST, if we could show that our Action generated a special issue in such a highly prestigious journal.

Best regards,
Michael and Farooq
