Training School Venue

The summer school will be hosted by Tallinn University of Technology (TUT). The opening ceremony and plenary lectures will be held at the Center for innovation and business (MEKTORY, address: 15 Raja tn) and in the auditorium SCI-109 at TUT Physical Sciences building (address: 15 Akadeemia tee).

Practical training and workshops will be organized at the laboratories of TUT Physical Sciences building and National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (KBFI, address: 23 Akadeemia tee)

How to get to Tallinn

By plane.  Tallinn Airport (Lennart Meri international airport: has either direct or connected flights to more than 30 destinations in Europe. It is located just 4 km from the city center and 10 km from TUT campus.

Once arrived to Lennart Meri international airport in Tallinn you can take bus No. 2 in front of the airport that goes straight to the city center. Get off at A. Laikmaa” stop in front of the Viru shopping center. Then take trolley nr 3 at “Kaubamaja” stop (other side on the Viru shopping center) and get off at “Keemia” stop that is just next to TTÜ campus – you can see the TTÜ main building and library.  Academic hostel and SCI building are located on the opposite side of the street slightly ahead in the course of the trolley.

Tickets can be purchased online at “R-kiosk” in the airport building or directly from the bus driver (regular fare: 2 EUR, reduced fare: 1 EUR). QR-tickets (1 EUR per single ride) can be purchased at .

You can also use a taxi, which will take you from the airport directly to the Academic Hostel. Taxies are available right at the airport and will charge you around 12-15 EUR. Alternatively, you can order a taxi by phone, it will arrive within 10 minutes and in this case, the fee for the taxi may be slightly smaller. See details on taxi in Tallinn:

By bus.

Several coach companies connect Tallinn with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. See more at:

By ferry.

 If you travel from Helsinki, Stockholm, or Saint Petersburg, you may take a ferry operated by Tallink or Viking Line

There are cafeterias in the each of the TUT buildings and plenty of restaurant and cafés around the TUT campus. Some of them are:

What to see
